Dungarvan Show 2025 – something for everyone!

Dungarvan Show will take place on Sunday, July 13, in Ballygagin, Dungarvan.

The 106th running of Dungarvan Show will take place on Sunday, July 13, in Ballygagin, Dungarvan.

The committee are very grateful to the show's landowners, the Queally, Broderick, Whelan and Shanley families, who make their lands available.

Sponsors are the lifeline of the show and without the show's loyal sponsors it would not be possible to hold a show.

Home Industries

The Home Industries section attracts a huge entry in all sections, which include classes for Juniors and Adults. 

The different sections include Flower Arranging/Cut Flowers, Potted Plants, Fruit and Vegetables, Eggs, Homemade Jams, Homemade Cakes and Pastries, Crafts, Art and Photography. 

There will be qualifiers for the All-Ireland Home Preserves Championship, The All-Ireland Junior Craft Championship, The Odlums All-Ireland Home Baking Championship and the Bord Bia 7 A Day Fruit and Vegetable Championship.

Schools Poster Competition

Schools have been circulated about creating a suitable poster to advertise the show. Entries close on June 15.

Horses

Liberty Blue Estate Agents have continued their generous sponsorship by putting up a prize fund of €1,000 for the Champion and Reserve Champion Ridden Hunter. 

Add to this additional classes for broodmares, which include the Breeding Grant Initiative and a qualifier for the Iverk Show All Ireland Broodmare and Foal Team final. 

2025 sees the introduction of the Pat Melody Championship for Native Breeds, which includes classes for Irish Draughts, Connemaras, Kerry Bog and Mountain and Moorland breeds.

Cattle

Tirlán continue to sponsor the Super Cow Class, while Pat Denn sponsors the Munster Junior Beef Championship. The show is grateful to all its loyal sponsors in the cattle classes.

Sheep

All the usual sheep classes will take place with the addition of a Children's Class under 12, Any Breed excluding Scotch, and a class for a Pen of Fattening lambs. 

Showjumping

The three showjumping rings will cater for all ages and capabilities. Why not come and watch some of the show's Irish showjumping stars in action!

Other attractions

Other attractions at Dungarvan Show will include:

  • Dance Floor/Entertainment Area with music by Loose Cannon, and a jiving competition, line dancing and traditional Irish music
  • Wellness marquee - talks and demonstrations on nutrition, healthy lifestyle options etc.
  • Artisan Marquee - local producers showcase their goods
  • Food Court with a variety of food selections on offer
  • Kids Zone and Petting Zoo with some delightful Alpacas
  • Fun train - travel in style around the showgrounds!
  • Traditional Forging Display 
  • Vintage Car and Tractor Display 
  • Tractor Driving Skills – all drivers must be over 16 and hold a tractor driving licence
  • Most Appropriately Dressed Person – sponsored by Willow & Oak 

There will be a Park And Ride service operating from Dungarvan town centre straight to the show, supported by Waterford Local Link.
