Dungarvan Enterprise Centre (DEC) will host the public consultation event on Wednesday, February 11.

A major consultation event will take place in County Waterford next month as part of an initiative within the food and agri-business sector.

Dungarvan Enterprise Centre (DEC) will host the public consultation event on Wednesday, February 11, as part of a feasibility study exploring the development of a Collaborative Living Laboratory (CLL) for the food, agri-business, and agri-tech sectors in the South East.

The study, is co-funded by Enterprise Ireland through the Irish Government and the European Union, through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.

The feasibility study is aimed at assessing the potential for a shared innovation space designed to foster collaboration between farmers, food producers, agri-tech enterprises, researchers, policy makers and enterprise support agencies, with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and regional economic growth.

The public consultation in Dungarvan Enterprise Centre will take place between 11.30am to 1pm.

A spokesperson for the organisers said the event will provide an opportunity for farmers, food producers, local businesses, stakeholders, and members of the public to learn more about the proposed initiative.

It will also give people an opportunity to engage directly with the project team and contribute feedback that will help inform the study’s findings.

Bill O’Gorman, Chair of the Board of Dungarvan Enterprise Centre, said stakeholder participation is “central to the success of the feasibility study”.

He also said that “engaging with local businesses, researchers, and the wider community at this early stage will help ensure the project reflects regional needs and maximise its potential impact.”

Dungarvan Enterprise Centre welcomes all interested parties to attend and participate in this important stage of the feasibility process.
