The Kilmeaden Vintage Tractor Club hold their annual tractor run every July. This year the date has been set for Sunday, July 13, and great preparations are underway. This event is really looked forward to each year. It is a wonderful day for all the family with some fantastic vintage vehicles on display. The participants gather at Haughton's Pub and the run begins at 1pm. The route followed is a scenic country route bursting with the sights and sounds of nature and then when the run arrives back and parks up safely at Haughton's where there will be lots of refreshments on offer and plenty of chat and laughs. For more information about the run please contact Pat on 087 2216589. This run has raised much needed funds for many charities over the years and this year all proceeds will go to Waterford Hospice who provide public benefit to patients and their families known to the Southeast Palliative Care Service. Waterford Hospice provide invaluable support not only to their patients but also to the families affected by a loved one’s illness.
Congratulations and best wishes to Laura Cummins, Carrickphilip, and her groom Robert Poole who celebrated their wedding day on June 14, in St. Nicholas Church Ballyduff. The bride looked beautiful as she arrived to meet her groom. Fr Enright was ready and waiting to guide the happy couple through their wedding ceremony as their family and friends watched on. We wish this lovely couple every happiness for the future.
We wish a very happy birthday to Jack O'Donnell and Michael O'Connor who both celebrated their 21st birthdays recently. They both joined together to celebrate in Haughton's Pub with a party for family and friends. A great night was had by all and the celebrations carried on for the weekend.
Huge congratulations to Dylan Murphy, Coolagadden who is part of the Waterford minor team, and he put in a great performance in their game against Kilkenny. They are now preparing for the All-Ireland Final and we wish Dylan and all his teammates the very best of luck.
Congratulations to local ladies Olivia Dooley and Erina Scannell who enjoyed great success at the recent Munster Athletics Meeting at the RSC Waterford. The girls each won a medal in the U9 Munster Relay Race. Both girls are members of Ferrybank Athletic Club and are both First class pupils in Ballyduff NS. Congratulations to Olivia and Erina and we look forward to watching their future success. The other interesting point to note is that both these young ladies live on the High Road so there is definitely something in the water up there.

Congratulations to club members Trudy O'Reilly and Aisling Counihan, who were flying the flag for the club as they joined their teammates on the U14 Waterford blue and white camogie squad in Rathkeale on June 14, to take part in an excellently organised Munster Camogie Blitz. Both squads were placed in tough groups but put in a fantastic performance and continue to improve with each game. Congratulations to the U13 LGFA team who closed their season at a blitz in Portlaw. The girls were excellent on the day and secured a win in all three games against Ballyduff Upper, Gailtir and Kilmacthomas. A big thank you to all the girls for putting in such hard work all year and to their parents and coaches for all their support.

The club would like to say a huge thank you to Mark Gleeson of Kilmeaden Pharmacy who generously sponsored a set of jerseys for the Ballyduff AFC U17 team. The lads were their club colours with pride and will be delighted to wear the Kilmeaden Pharmacy logo.

The club has also released a very important date on their annual calendar. Their popular Summer Camp will run from July 14 to July 18. This camp is very popular so check out the club’s Facebook page for booking details. The camp is a great opportunity to make new friends while learning lots of new skills. The camp is open to boys and girls aged 5-12 and all skill levels are welcomed; the only requirement is the ability to have fun. If you would like to join the club’s development fund, please contact any of the committee or check out details on their Facebook page. The proceeds of this draw will support the club’s upgrade plans which include a clubhouse extension and gym and all-weather pitch. Congratulations to the May cash draw winner Michael Hearne.
