Sympathies

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of the late Brian O'Shea, Sweetbriar Lawn, Tramore. Predeceased by his parents John and Nancy and sister Catherine, he is sadly missed by his wife Eileen, sons John and Paddy, daughters Christine, Anne, Siobhan, and Mary, their spouses Brian, Tony, Tadhg, Caroline, and Claire, his adored grandchildren Matthew, , Tom, Sarah, Laura, Paidi, Meabhbh, Ailbhe, Remy, Estelle and Sophie, brother Sean, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Brian, late of Slievekeale Rd, Waterford, former national school teacher, Labour Party TD and Minister of State, spent time in Portlaw during his political career and held clinics to meet his constituents - to whom he gave freely of his time and helped where he could. His good work won't be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

Portlaw United FC

Soccer Tots for 'smallies' takes place on Saturday mornings in the Astro. Contact John Murray for more details if needed 087 2594301. Portlaw United FC U14 schoolgirl result: Ballinroad 1-1 Portlaw.  We travelled to the league leaders with just the bare 11 girls and played some of the matches with 10 girls at times. The determination and teamwork this team put in this morning was amazing to watch. They defended for their lives and did themselves and their club very proud taking points off the league leaders, who hadn't dropped a point all season. Well done girls, the future is very bright. Goal scored by Ruby mulcahy. We would again like to thank everyone who signed up for the Club Supporters Development Syndicate to date. The most recent draw results were composed of: 1st prize - €100 Michael and Ester Nugent; 2nd prize - €50 Dawn Kehoe; 3rd prize - €25 - Elaine Power.  If anyone would like to join the syndicate to improve the club facilities contact any member of the committee or the club Facebook page directly.
