Local Notes: RNLI swim, Good Old Days festival and the return of the blue flag

Lots of events are taking place in the Dunmore East area
Wednesday, June 4, 7.30 pm, Friday, June 5, 9.30 am, Sunday, June 7, 9.30 am. Mass In Carbally Church every Sunday at 11am.
On Sunday, June 21, the fifth Annual Fundraising Swim for Dunmore East RNLI takes place with an underage swim for u-12 to 16 over 500 metres and a 17-year-old swim plus over 800 metres and 1600 metres. The first event is at 1pm. The event is sold out.
Recently, it was announced many areas in Waterford had got their coveted Blue Flag back, including Counsellors Strand in Dunmore, and it's great news for the area and its bathers with clear quality water there.
The Good Old Days Festival in the Carbally Community Centre is on Sunday, June 15, at 1.30pm.
Those wishing to book stalls at the event at €10 per stall can ring 085 1344403 and have them in place by 1pm as the Festival begins at 1.30 pm with music, children and fathers and mothers races, a dog show, Tug of War etc.
Dunmore FC is to launch a new Soccer Academy starting on Saturday, June 7, at 10am and continue every Saturday at the same time from 10 to 11 am.
Boys and girls aged four and upwards are welcome.

In Templemore last Saturday week at a Munster Championship fixture Siofra Maloney Kilmacomb, competing with Ferrybank AC won the u14 combined events championship.
