Sympathies

The death took place of Mrs Kathleen (Kate) Phelan (née: Walsh), Harristown, Dunmore East on Sunday, October 6, at the Oak Ward Waterford University Hospital, formerly of Kilnagrange, Kilmacthomas and late of St Monica's Ward, St Otteran’s Hospital, Waterford. She was an extremely well-liked lady in the area and popular with all who came in contact with her and also in her place of work. Her remains were reposed at Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Monday, October 7. Kate’s funeral cortege passed the family home in Kilnagrange, en-route to St Anne’s Church, Fews, Kilmacthomas, on Tuesday, October 8, for her Requiem Mass on arrival at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Predeceased by husband Kevin, parents Pat and Kitty Walsh, she is survived by her son Pat, daughters Catherine and Terri, grandchildren Maria, Michael, Tina, Shannon, Tamara, Dylan, Caithlyn and Jack, great-grandchildren Ada, Thaigh, Oisin, Ellen, Charlie, Leah, Conor, Ryan and Fionn, sisters, Alice, Biddy, Marie, Trisha and Helen, brothers Tom and Davy, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Church Masses

Masses in Killea Church this week will be celebrated on  Wednesday, October 16, at 7.30 pm; Friday, October 18, at 9.30am and Sunday, October 20, at 9.30am. Masses in Carbally are celebrated every Sunday at 11am.

RNLI Shop

The Dunmore East Lifeboat Shop opening hours have been recently updated. The new opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm and on Sundays from 12.30pm to 4pm.

Amy Winehouse

'The Life and Songs of Amy Winehouse' show will take place in Carbally Community Centre on Saturday, October 19. It will take place with the help of singers Ellen Quilty and Derek Flynn, who will chart Amy's rise to fame and perform some of her greatest songs. Gaultier GAA

Last week end was a very big one for Gaultier football. They were in the County Senior Football semi final v Abbeyside/ Ballinacourty in Fraher Field. The junior A team were against Fenor in the Eastern semi final in Dunhill, and the Junior C team were also in the Eastern semi final v Tramore in Fenor. Next week we will have how they fared out. The minors play Abbeyside /Ballinacourty in Gaultier on Sunday next, October 20, at 11am. The postponed Car Draw will now go ahead on October 27 and tickets are available online at:https://www.collectit.ie/gaultiergaa/tickets/or in store at Gaultier GAA Club Grounds, Tom Murphy Car Sales, Cork Road Waterford and Dungarvan Motor Mall, Youghal Road, Dungarvan. Proceeds go towards the Gaultier GAA playing facility development project.

Anniversary Celebration

Gaultier Ladies Football Club will be holding a 10th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, October 18, in the Haven Hotel at 7.30pm. Tickets are €15 and available from 087 9741298 or 087 1266200.
