On Thursday, October 10, at the The Haven Hotel, Cormac Louth presents an illustrated lecture on 200 years of the RNLI in Ireland. This should be a very interesting lecture especially for those currently volunteering with Dunmore East RNLI and indeed anyone remotely interested locally.

Cormac will be showing a great many rare and interesting images that will include photographs, charts, and paintings and touching on the great number of shipwrecks around our South East Coast and the number of rescues carried out by the RNLI.
The centre got very good news last week when news came through that from the Sports Capital Grant the centre will receive €102,071 to go towards furthering facilities at the centre for the benefit of the people of Carbally, Ballymacaw and surrounding areas. The grant marks a milestone in the journey as a community to invest in creating a space to support a variety of sports and recreations.
