We would like to wish our club players the best of luck in the all-Ireland U14 blitz with Waterford Camogie, in Dublin. They players include: Aoibheann Doherty; Layla O'Regan; Chloe Rochford; Sarah Kelly and Sarah O'Connor.
The girls have a great weekend ahead of them staying over in Dublin Saturday night and getting to parade around Croke Park at half time during the Intermediate Camogie Final. The very best of luck to all the teams and mentors, we hope you enjoy the weekend.
Well done to our U12 team who played a challenge match recently against Piltown. A very good game, where both sides showed great skill and determination. Portlaw came out on the winning side after a very enjoyable and tough game. Thanks to the Piltown girls and mentors for travelling over.
Our U8 girls also continue to work incredibly hard in training. These three girls have received Player of the week over the past few weeks for their determination , good attitude and skill. Brilliant work rate from all girls at this age level. Keep it up: Lacey Power, Millie Morrissey-Lyons and Lucy Fahy.
Very hard luck to our U14 team who were beaten by a strong Cappoquin team in the County Final. The girls made us proud and battled hard for every ball. They're a very talented group of girls and their day will come. Well done to both teams on a great display of camogie and congratulations to Cappoquin Camogie Club. A huge thanks to our U14 coaches Henry, Shane, Leo and Ger for all the work they put into the girls and to the parents for all their support. Although the result didn't go our way we still made some great memories over the last few weeks.
Our U13s had a great win recently beating St Oliver’s 7-2 to 6-4. Huge well done lads, keep up the good work.
We’ve had more success in the Déise Draw this month with our syndicate member Pat Dunphy winning big. Huge congratulations Pat.
Our premiers kicked off their short season with an entertaining 2-2 draw at home recently to Dungarvan. Dungarvan led 2-0 with 15 mins remaining but our lads never gave up with both Darryl Walsh and Luke Woods hitting the crossbar, eventually our pressure paid off with Darryl scoring twice from the penalty spot. Huge effort from all the lads and great to get a point on the board.
Welcome to the club to our new young club signings Michael O’Grady, Tighearnan King and Cian Mullowney all playing well in their first premier game for the club. A goalkeeping debut for a slightly older Michael Donnelly and special mention also to 15 year old Samuel Deevy who also made his premier league debut. The 1st of many for sure.
We would again like to thank everyone who signed up for the Club Supporters Development Syndicate to date.
In our latest draw the lucky winners: 1st prize - Thomas Fogarty (€100); 2nd prize - Bert Kelly (€50); 3rd prize - Gail Power (€25). If anyone would like to join the syndicate to improve the club facilities contact any member of the committee or the club Facebook page directly.
