Tramore 2026 Calendar

The Tramore 2026 Calendar has been officially launched. This marks the fifth year of capturing the beauty of Tramore and sharing it with you all. The calendar is packed with Kevin Doyle’s favourite images from 2025. Every calendar sold includes a €1 donation to Juniors for Juniors, a fantastic local Waterford foundation supporting youth initiatives. Thanks to your support, we have raised €1,000 each year since the beginning, and we hope to achieve this again. The calendar is available online at www.kevindoylephotography.ie. It is also available in the usual stockists for €10. Let’s make the 2026 edition as popular as last year’s.

Sympathies

It is with sadness that we record the passing of Marion Cahill (née: Shortall), late of The Terrace, Tramore, and late of The Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph’s Home, Ferrybank. Marion passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Dermot and her five brothers she is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children Diane, Vincent and Bernard, son-in-law Martin, daughters-in-law Shirley and Caroline, her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Reposing at St. Joseph’s Home, Ferrybank, on Monday Requiem Mass took place on Tuesday morning in the Church of the Holy Cross, Tramore, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

World Boxing

Best of luck to Zara Breslin and Team Ireland as they depart for Sheffield and a multi-nation camp ahead of the World Boxing Championships in September. Zara is a talented and decorated amateur boxer from Tramore Boxing Club. Having already achieved national success and gained international recognition by winning the Haringey Box Cup, she is now ready to compete on the global stage at the World Championships. At just 24 years old this year, she is widely recognised as a rising star in Irish boxing, with glowing endorsements from established champions.

Tramore Tennis Club

Tom McCloskey, Treasurer at Tramore Tennis Club, proudly presented a cheque for €3,000, money that had been raised at a special fundraiser night for young Emma. Emma, the beloved granddaughter of our treasured long-standing member Hilda Healy, was at the heart of the evening. Hilda herself came along to receive the cheque, which went directly towards Emma’s care and the expenses of her family. Emma Flynn is a bright, brave 10-year-old who had been diagnosed with Idiopathic Aplastic Anaemia and needed a bone marrow transplant in Holland. Her grandmother Hilda has always been such a valued member of the club, and it was only natural that members came out in their droves to support both Emma and her family. The courts were full of life as members, new and old, played some great tennis, shared plenty of laughter, and enjoyed each other’s company. The generosity of the wider community shone through too - over 50 spot prizes were donated by local businesses, an incredible show of support that did not go unnoticed. Every euro raised went directly to Emma and her family. A huge thanks went to the volunteers who made the night such a success: Karen, Monica, Mary, Ethna, Melanie, the committee, and many more. Tramore Tennis Club has always been built on the kindness and effort of its volunteers and supporters, and this event was a shining example of that spirit.
