Crooke Church Repainting

At the end of November, work will begin to repaint the interior of Crooke Church which will take three months. While there will be no Mass there during the week, it is hoped that Sunday Mass will continue throughout the duration of the works. Financial help is requested and donations towards the cost of the work can be made using the envelopes available in the Church. Donations would be very much appreciated for a very worthy local cause.

Peace Commissioner

Our local Independent councillor for this area, Councillor Declan Barry, was recently appointed a Peace Commissioner, by the Department of Justice. This will enable him to witness signatures on documents, take statutory declarations and oaths, and sign certificates and orders under various acts. This is an honorary, unpaid position, appointed by the Minister for Justice. Cllr Barry said he is delighted with his new role and is looking forward to assisting all who are living in our community.
