Local Notes: Local lotto, text alert, social dancing and guitar lessons

Guitar lessons take place in Kill Community Centre.
There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €4,900.
The numbers pulled were 1, 5, 9 and 20 and congratulations to Ray Coburn and Johnny Power who matched three numbers. Best of luck to all the players.
The Community Text Alert Service is still ongoing and open to any member of the public to join. Some messages that the group send out include notifications from the Gardaí, Met Eireann and others which help to keep the community informed. Kill Action Group is a registered provider for the Senior Alert Scheme which provides a personal monitored alarm for those aged 65 and over, living alone or with another person who meets the eligibility criteria and residing within the area. The equipment is free however there is a fee for monitoring the alarm. Either a landline, mobile phone or broadband connection is required to install and connect the alarm. Last week, Cathal and Teddy Barry entertained everyone at social dancing in Kill Community Centre on Wednesday night. Next up are Checkers, on Wednesday, July 23, a firm favourite with all our dancers with the fun beginning at 9pm. Complementary tea, coffee and sweet treat so come and join in the fun. Last Sunday, Andy Feery entertained a great crowd and the dancefloor was full all afternoon. Next on the line-up is Michael Collins, on Sunday, July 27, who will no doubt entertain and draw a crowd. Sunday afternoon’s social dancing begins at 3 pm and finishes at 6 pm.
Guitar lessons have recommenced in Kill Community Centre every Wednesday. These lessons begin at 6.30pm and a small number of places are available. To book call or text Michael Murphy on 087 9050190.
