AFC enters a new era

Tramore AFC is proud to welcome Gary Hunt as our new Director of Football, joining forces with Tommy Griffin - both UEFA Pro Licence holders - to elevate football development across all levels of the club. Gary, currently Head Coach of Waterford Women, brings deep experience and a lifelong connection to Tramore AFC. He’ll work closely with Tommy to ensure consistency, quality, and excellence throughout the club.

Additionally, the Academy will relaunch in September with a restructuring that includes the direct integration of Academy coaches into team sessions, monthly coaching workshops led by Gary and Tommy, and clear player pathways with a focus on long-term development.

With nearly 50 teams and a thriving academy, this marks a bold step forward. Together, we’re building a stronger, more sustainable future for football in Tramore.

AFC Awards

Over the last couple of weeks, we have had our girls and boys player of the season awards and a fantastic occasion to acknowledge the winners, but also to acknowledge their team-mates, without whom it would not be possible.

Also, we must mention all the coaches who put in Trojan work with our players, and we are so grateful to them all.

Finally, a mention for the number one supporters, the parents. Without your sacrifices and enthusiasm, many of these kids wouldn't have the support they do, and that is brilliant to see at every game in Graun Park.

A special mention also to Kate O'Connor and cousins Darby Sheridan and Connor Cleary, who were all awarded the Chairman's award for contributions to underage football in both sections.
