Edmund Rice ARA

Edmund Rice ARA had a great night out on Thursday last in the Mount Sion Centre where they held a 'Colour Me Beautiful' night with tea, coffee sandwiches and cakes served. They also held a great raffle with all proceeds going to Solas. A great night was held by all well done to all the committee, especially Nancy. The group would like to thank everyone who supported the night, those who sponsored raffle prizes including AYU make up and Clarins. A very special thank you to Richie Hayes who entertained us and also set up the disco and Racheal shows us all how to put on our makeup.

Happy Birthday

A very happy birthday is wished to Lisa Dower, who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, October 8. Birthday greetings come to her from her dad Paul, her granny Betty, Anne and Gerry Priory Lawn and all her friends in Benfica FC where she is a popular player.

A very Happy Birthday is wished to John Waters, Butlerstown who celebrated his special day on Thursday, October 10. Birthday wishes come to him from his wife Fiona and all his family and friends.

A very happy is wished to Francis Higgins, Clonard Park who celebrated her birthday recently. Birthday wishes come to Francis from her husband James, all her family and her many friends. A very happy birthday is wished to Marian McEvoy, Glencarra who celebrated her birthday during the week. Birthday wishes come to Marian from all her family and her many friends.

A very happy 15th birthday is wished to Luke Corcoran Brown who celebrated his birthday during the week. Luke is son of Anne Corcoran Brown, formerly of Priory Lawn, and Wayne Brown. All his uncles, aunts and all his cousins and friends send birthday greetings to him. A very happy birthday is wished to Emma Burke, McDonagh Road, Kingsmeadow who celebrated her birthday on Thursday, October 10. Birthday wishes come to her from all her family and her many friends. A very happy birthday is wished to Jackie Fletcher, Priory Lawn who celebrated his special day on Sunday, October 13. Birthday wishes come to him from all his family and grandchildren and his many friends especially all in the Men’s Shed.

A very happy birthday is wished to Eddie Power, Ballybeg Close who celebrated his birthday recently. Birthday wishes come to him from his wife Siobhan his daughters and his grandchildren as well as all his family and his many friends.

Church Funds 

St Saviour's will be holding its annual Christmas raffle which will take place the Sunday before Christmas. As always, we are looking for items to help fill the Christmas Hamper. Any items you can donate will be gratefully received in the Parish Office. Tickets will be on sale from Sunday, November 1, for €2 each or three for €5.

St Saviour's GAA

Little Saints meet every Saturday morning 11am to 12pm for boys and girls from 5 years to 8 years and on Mondays and Fridays from 5.45pm to 6.45pm for 8 years to 13 years. All are welcome, especially all from Ballybeg and the surrounding areas of Meadowbank, Foxwood, Carraige-an-Aird and Templars Hall. Our U8 and U9 teams train every Monday at 6pm on the Astro Turf at St Saviour's GAA Club. This is open to all 7 and 8 year olds. Additionally we have indoor training every Wednesday at the Kilbarra Sports Hall starting at 6pm for U8s and 9s.

The U10 and U11 teams training takes place on Tuesdays at 6pm also at St Saviour's club on the Astro Turf. The club is looking to build for next year and welcome any children who might be interested in trying out the sport whether they played before or not. We have plenty coaches on hand to guide and support them. So if you have a child aged from 7 to 11 and they would like to get involved they are more then welcome to join us.

Southend FC

Southend FC will run their academy for boys and girls aged 4 to 8 years on Friday nights from 6.15pm to 7pm at Southend Park. All boys and girls in the area are welcome to attend. Training for those aged 11 to 15 takes place on Tuesday and Thursdays at 5.30pm to 6.45pm. The club will also be holding a fundraising bingo night in the Forum on Tuesday, October 29. Tickets can be had by contacting Lynn Dooley or any of the committee or club members. We do hope all our supporters players and families will support us on the night for a fun night and maybe win a few prizes on the way.

St Saviour's Parish News

The parish shop is open each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 12pm. Mass can be booked at these times and Baptism takes place every Sunday at 12pm and one weeks’ notice is required. Mass times are comprised of: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 9.30am. NB ther is no Mass on Wednesday. Mass on Sunday is celebrated at 8.30am, 11am and 5.30pm. 

Fr Grant PP is available after mass on Sunday to accept Mass bookings or offerings for Mass. For marriage three months notice is required. 

Care of the Sick

If you have a relative or neighbour who is ill at home or in hospital, please let us know. The Parish Shop is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 12pm for candles certs and mass cards.
