Lot of events taking place around Dunmore East.

Sympathies

The death took place on Monday, October 21, in University Hospital Waterford of Mr Clifford (Cliff) Pierce, Portally, Dunmore East and formerly of Tuam, Co Galway. A carpenter by profession and of a quiet disposition, he was widely known and very well liked all over the area. The family had a long association with Gaelic Games in the area that continues to this day with some of his grandchildren keeping up the family tradition of playing football, ladies football and camogie with various Gaultier teams. His remains reposed at Falconer's Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore on Thursday and his Requiem Mass was on Friday in the Holy Cross Church, Killea, with burial in Killea New Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Ann (nee: Dingley) his daughter Sinead, sons Phillip, Declan and David, daughter-in-law Deirdre, David’s partner Kay and Declan’s partner Sinead, and Sinead's partner Jim, his grandchildren Alima, Milo, Anouk, Anna, Sean, Ava and Keela by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.

Gaultier GAA

The late family of the Mr Clifford have a long connection with Gaelic Games in the community. His sons Philip, David and Declan all represented the club at underage and adult level and all three have also assisted the club in their own unique ways off the pitch also. Philip is currently our head grounds man and everyone knows and appreciates the fantastic job Philip does with the upkeep of our training and playing facilities year in, year out. Presently some of Clifford’s grandchildren keep up the family tradition of playing football, ladies football and camogie with various Gaultier teams. All in the club send their sympathy to his wife Ann and family.
