Local Notes: Cruise ship visits, table quiz, golf classic and more from Dunmore East

The death took place of Mr James ( Jim) Burke, Dunmore East, on July 4, in the wonderful care of University Hospital Waterford. His remains reposed in Tom Hennessy's Funeral Home, Johnstown, Waterford, on Tuesday, July 8, and his funeral was private to family. Predeceased by his parents and brothers Gerry and Tony, he is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughters Síle and Órlaith, sons-in-law Aled and Charles, grandsons Rupert and Oscar, brothers John and Michael, sisters-in-law, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and kind neighbours.
Wednesday, July 16: 7.30 pm; Friday, July 18: 9.30am; Sunday, July 20: 9.30am. Mass in Carbally Church every Sunday at 11am.

Cruise ships due in Dunmore are as follows: Friday, July 25, Celebrity Eclipse with 2,852 passengers from 7am to 7pm; Wednesday, July 30, Norwegian Dawn with 2,340 passengers from 2pm to 9.30pm. All households in the village and local businesses please note.
