GAA Lotto

The numbers drawn in the latest lotto draw were 2, 8, 17 and 24 and there was no winner of the jackpot. The three lucky dip winners of €50 each were Linda Spillane, Eamon Daly and Tony Latham. The next draw will take place on Sunday, February 16, and there will be a jackpot of €12,500 on offer. Tickets cost just €2 each, or three for €5, and can be purchased from all committee members, online, and from volunteer sellers at Centra on Saturday, February 15. This draw is a major fundraiser for the club and they appreciate the support they receive from the community and beyond.

Get Moving

Ballyduff AFC are encouraging everyone to get moving this January. You are invited to drop along to the club’s grounds on Tuesday’s at 7pm and join in their community walk on their walking track. This is a great way to get active and improve your mental and physical health in a safe way. You can also enjoy the company of others with a nice laugh and a chat.

Church News

The good news is that our Saturday evening mass has now returned at 7.30pm and our Sunday mass takes place on Sunday mornings at 10am. If you would like to book an anniversary mass for a loved one, masses will need to be shared. You can book a mass by contacting Ann in the sacristy or Linda Spillane on 087 9838392. Our parish choir rehearse every Wednesday night in the church at 8pm and are always ready to welcome new members. They would be delighted to welcome new male and female members so if you are interested please drop along to rehearsal. The choir really enhance our masses with their beautiful selection of hymns every weekend.

Community Alert

Our local community alert group will hold their AGM on Wednesday, February 26, at 8pm in Ballyduff Community Centre. There will be a guest speaker on the night to speak about improving your home security.

New Signing

Ballyduff AFC would like to send congratulations to former player Mia Lenihan, who has joined the Waterford UTD women’s team for the upcoming season. Mia was always an outstanding player, excelling in the Ballyduff AFC girls team and also earning an U16 cup medal with the boy’s team. The club wish Mia the very best of luck for the future and look forward to watching her play.

Training Day

The Football Academy of Ireland will host a special day of training on Tuesday, February 18, from 3pm to 6pm at Ballyduff AFC Grounds. This is aimed at boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years and costs just €20. No booking is needed and the course includes shooting, passing, dribbling, control, crossing and tackling. Season Start

As our lady footballers get ready to begin their season, we send our very best wishes to local lady, Fiona Crotty Laffan, who will lead our minors out as their manager. Fiona has years of experience as a player and coach and will be a true inspiration to the girls. Fiona is an All Star with five All Ireland medals and numerous club and underage county All Irelands. She has the experience and passion needed to encourage and support the girls. Fiona is delighted to have such a dedicated back room team working with her and has every confidence in her players. The team will kick off their campaign in March against Cork and we wish them the very best of luck.

The Kilmeaden Community Network represents the people of Kilmeaden, engaging with public bodies, private organisations, and local residents. Their goal is to enhance the quality of life throughout Kilmeaden and its surrounding areas.
