Local Notes: Christmas swim time, school holidays, lifeboat shop and more

Mass times in Killea Church this week are: Friday, December 19th - 9.30am; Sunday, December 21st - 9.30am. Mass in Carbally Church is every Sunday at 11am, but on Christmas Day it will be at 11.30am. Services in St Andrew's Church of Ireland, Dunmore East, over Christmas will include the Annual Carol Service on Wednesday, December 17th, at 7.30pm, On Sunday December 21stm there will Service of Holy Communion at 11.30am and on Christmas Day, Service of Holy Communion will be at 11.30am.
Réalt Na Mara Schools, in Dunmore East, will have early closing on Friday, December 19th, and will reopen on Monday, January 5.

The Dunmore East Lifeboat Shop is open now with everything from clothing and souvenirs to beautiful Christmas Cards, including a special Dunmore East Card with an Irish greeting, plus diaries and calendars for 2026. Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday, from 11am to 4pm, Sunday, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. Cards and calendars are also available at Harbour Stores, Dock Rd, Dunmore East.
