Mass times in Crooke and Faithlegg Churches this week are as follows: Wednesday, June 19 - Faithlegg at 11.30 am; Thursday, June 20 - Crooke at 10am; Saturday, June 22 - Faithlegg at 6.30pm; Sunday Vigil, June 23 - Crooke at 11.30am.
Last Thursday the Mass due to be held in Crooke Cemetery was transferred to Crooke Church due to the expected cold weather in the cemetery that evening.
A huge crowd gathered in the Church and Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr PJ Breen PP, with the Crooke Church Choir and Paudie Creedon at the Organ providing the music.
It was a lovely ceremony with those present remembering their dead and Fr Breen's sermon very much in touch with the occasion. After Mass Fr Breen went to Crooke Cemetery to bless all the graves.
Heartiest congratulations to Declan Barry, from Crooke on his outstanding success in his first ever local election as an Independent candidate. He was elected at the first count with a massive 1,267 votes. Wishing him every success in his political life.
