I’m like an over the top ancient rock band, you thought you got rid of me last week and here I am back for more….outstaying my welcome? I hope not.
We just had a few loose ends to tie up including the pride of place picture of our latest overall Fantasy Golf Challenge Champion, Tramore’s Joe Farrell, who was delighted to finally get his hands on the winner’s prize after being in this competition virtually since the very start. He said he was fairly sure of who Ray Malone had on his team but he was worried that someone might come out of the pack to nab him in the final week but luckily for him actually pulled in further away from the field in the final week to win the prize of a wonderful two night stay for four at the fabulous Castleknock Hotel in Dublin, thanks to our friends at FBD Hotels.
Thomas Murphy was also at our final presentation to pick up his weekly prize of green fees for the excellent Faithlegg Golf Club, his first weekly win. Thanks again to Deirdre Houlihan, Karl Cullen, Derry, Kevin and all at Faithlegg for their help throughout this competition.
If you were wondering where you or your ‘rivals’ ended up in this year’s challenge then wonder no more as we have printed the full final overall standings from Joe Farrell all the way to Michael Lane’s Harangue team who finished at the bottom of the pile with eight points. Chin up Michael.
We have also (below) printed the top 36 scoring golfers in this year’s challenge. If you had none of these players on your team, then I’m afraid that’s why you finished where you did (on the opposite page, most likely).
Thanks for entering and we hope to see you all back with us again in 2019.
Happy Christmas.
