AS part of Operation Thor/Storm, which took place in Waterford yesterday, nine people were arrested and a suspected brothel was searched.
The nine were arrested and detained for theft, robbery, a court related offence and one for sexual offences.
Three people were interviewed voluntarily for prostitution offences and theft. Five were found in the possession of drugs, while four premises were searched under drug warrants. As part of the operation a suspected brothel was also searched.
In total 25 policing patrols took place. Seven people were arrested on foot of bench warrants and 10 bench warrants were executed. Just under 60 summons were served and six charges were preferred. Two cars were seized and another vehicle was recovered.
