Sheamie McDonagh (St. Paul’s Boxing Club) continued the club’s brilliant record of National titles over the past 41 years on Saturday in Dublin when he landed the Boy 3 48kg title in great style with a 5-0 win over Thomas Maughan of Ballyhaunis BC.

It was his third fight in four days after he overcame Rory O’Gorman of St. Malachys 5-0 in the quarter-finals and Sean Roche of Donore 3-2 in the semi-finals.

Here he is in blue after a recent victory over Jerome Lonergan of Clonmel BC at a St. Paul’s Boxing Club tournament. Also included is referee Loughie Gannon. Photo: Joe Evans.
