The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross TD was in Waterford yesterday (Monday) where he held talks with Waterford Airport but he also took time out of his busy schedule to officially launch the new Waterford FC home and away jerseys for the upcoming SSE Airtricity League of Ireland First Division season.
With the start of the new season a little over a week away when the Blues take on Athlone Town away from home, the TD was joined by Minister of State for Training and Skills  John Halligan TD as well as current Waterford FC local players Kenny McEvoy, Dean O’Halloran, Conor Whittle and Dean Walsh at the Tower Hotel in the unveiling of the new kit.
Waterford’s new home jersey will be the traditional Blue colour, while the club have opted to remain with the White jersey for an away kit. It’s unclear whether the club will invest in a third choice colour like red and green like in previous years.
The new jersey will be on display for the Waterford FC fans in a Questions and Answers session with members of the club to be held at Norris’s Bar on tomorrow (Wednesday). It’s expected that Alan Reynolds will be joined by a number of players to address the supporters of the club ahead of the new season.
With the board currently finalising other merchandise ahead of the seasons start, it’s also remains uncertain at this stage when this will be made available to purchase by the public and details of this are expected to be announced over the coming days.
As a token of appreciation to fans, the club will also extend their season ticket offer of €99 adult tickets at the Questions and Answers event as well as the open training meet and greet with players to be held at the RSC on this Thursday evening starting at 6.30pm.
The Blues Supporters Club have also announced details of their membership offers for the 2017 season. A general membership will be able for €10, while the BSC will continue with their Club 100 membership with the launch of the Supporters Club to be held in Norris’s Bar on Tuesday next, February 21, at 6pm.
