A 28-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested this morning following Monday afternoon’s vicious assault at Priory Lawn, Ballybeg.

The man, who lives locally, was arrested at approximately 10am and is currently being detained at Waterford Garda Station.

Two members of the Gardai interviewed the victim, 20-year-old Dean Flynn, at University Hospital Cork yesterday evening. He is said to be recovering well but may have lost parts belonging to three of his fingers.

Gardai have concluded the examination on a car the culprits used to escape from the scene and are awaiting results.
