Anyone with even a passing interest in the game of soccer in this county will know that these are difficult times for Waterford United. There’s no doubt that it’s sad to see a club with such a brilliant tradition (one of the finest in Irish football) struggling to survive, but feeling sorry for the club and its position will achieve nothing. Action is required. Already, great fundraising efforts are being taken to help Save Waterford United and we here at the Waterford News & Star wanted to do our bit and try and raise some much needed money for Waterford United.
What better way then we thought than to tie it in with the upcoming European Championships in France, at which two of Waterford’s favourite sons, John O’Shea and Daryl Murphy, will fly the flag for Ireland.
We have come up with the idea of a Euro 2016 Predictor and it’s really simple to play. To enter all you have to do fill in the entry form in today’s Waterford News & Star and return it to us, with the €10 entry fee, to us here at the Waterford News & Star in Gladstone Street by 5pm on Friday, June 10. During the tournament we will bring you the latest standings all the way to revealing our overall winner in mid July.
