PERFORMANCE, light shows, family friendly activities, sand art and street entertainment will all be part of the inaugural Promenade Festival taking place in Tramore on July 4, 5 and 6th next. The event with something of interest for people of all ages is being hosted by Tramore Tourism in association with The Art Hand. The festival will also celebrate the work of the Emergency Services who will showcase their skills to the public with exciting displays and demonstrations. The festival plans to utilise the best that Tramore has to offer. The Promenade itself is a unique location between the land and the sea. It is a neutral and public space and is the perfect mascot to symbolise the social, architectural and historic elements of the town. The Promenade Festival plans to rekindle Tramore’s nostalgic and vibrant past as it evolves into Ireland’s premiere seaside resort. The main outdoor experience will be based on the Promenade and beach with a string of events taking place up through the town. To connect the Prom and the town main streets a pedestrian system will be in operation along Strand Street as far as the cross on Main Street and Queen Street. Keith Daniels from Tramore Tourism is the festival manager and Sean Corcoran from The Art Hand is the artistic director. An enthusiastic team of volunteers have come together to make this an exciting and unique annual event. If you are an artist, performer or entertainer and would like to get involved please ring Keith on 083 1506006.
