GIY keeps growing
By Mary Ellen Breen

GROW it Yourself (GIY) has partnered with Woodies DIY in a bid to get the whole country growing.

Michael Kelly from Dunmore East set up the first GIY group in Waterford and now many more have been established countrywide.

Michael said, “GIY Ireland is delighted to welcome Woodie’s DIY on board as our lead sponsor for 2010. Having Woodie’s on board allows us the opportunity to potentially reach tens of thousands of consumers around Ireland with the GIY message and of course they are an Irish company which is very important to us too.”

GIY Ireland is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to inspire Irish people to start growing their own food and give them the skills they need to do so successfully.

Each month over 2,500 GIY enthusiasts in 50 different groups meet nationwide to exchange tips and knowledge about GIY.
