Local Spar stores get golden star
FIVE local Spar stores were recognised at the stores 5 Star Awards, with three shops receiving the top honour.
Gray’s Spar Barrack Street, Kelly’s Spar Ferrybank and Brathnach’s Spar Ballingoul all received the highest honour after being named 5 Star Award winners for five consecutive years.
The other Waterford stores to receive an award were Spar Manor Village and Spar Waterford IT.
In order to qualify for an award the retailers were required to undergo a year-long assessment programme, which included surprise audits by mystery shoppers and food safety checks.
