Family tree
I FREQUENTLY read the Waterford News & Star online and due to the wide circulation of the newspaper in Waterford I am hoping you will publish this letter for me.
For the past few years I have been researching my family tree, the maternal side all Irish, but this project is proving difficult due to the lack of census returns.
The Kilmacow birth register has been a great help along with a few certificates from Roscommon. I am hoping there are descendents of the Aldridge/Nolan family that still live locally and can make contact with me.
William Aldridge was my grandfather, born in Kilkenny. He lived at 6 Hennessy’s Road, Waterford with his parents William and Bridget (nee Dwyer). His siblings were Mary, Patrick, Margaret, Thomas, Richard and Bridget.
William married Mary Nolan, whose parents were John and Catherine (nee Britt). Mary’s siblings were Bridget, John and Patrick. William and Mary lived in Morrison’s Road with their first born, Mary Bridget, before moving to Swansea between 1905 and 1907, where they had six more children, including my mother, Margaret.
There are only six grandchildren still alive. I would be delighted to hear from anyone connected to my family.
Many thanks.
