New directors appointed to Waterford Airport
By Mary Ellen Breen

THE board of Waterford Airport Company has announced the appointment of two new directors, Pat Gilhooly, Managing Director of Hasbro Ireland, and John F Condon, Managing Director of John Condon & Associates Ltd.

The new directors were welcomed by Waterford Airport Chairman, Dan Browne, who said the appointment of two of the most senior business figures in the region would be of very significant benefit to the airport.

“Both Pat Gilhooly and John Condon have demonstrated enormous commitment to the region in which their businesses are located,” said Mr Browne.

“In addition to holding down very demanding careers in international business, both men found the time and energy to contribute their time and talents to the wider community and I look forward to working with the new directors. I believe that the depth of experience and new insights which both men bring to the airport, one of our most important regional infrastructural assets, will support its further development.”

Mr Browne also offered his sincere thanks to retiring board members Mr. Tom Sheridan and Mr. Sean Power, for their years of service on the Waterford Airport board.

Mr. Gilhooly is Head of Global Manufacturing with Hasbro Inc and is Managing Director of Hasbro Ireland, Waterford. He has worked with Hasbro for over 30 years where he has been involved in a variety of disciplines and has managed operations in the UK, Spain and the USA.

A native of Dublin, he graduated from UCD with an Honours Bachelors of Commerce and is a Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Married to Dolores, they have four adult children.

Mr. Condon is Managing Director of John Condon & Associates Ltd, established in 2008 to provide business, management, human resources and public affairs consultancy to companies in Ireland. He is a graduate of University College Cork and is currently living in Clonmel.

He is a former Director of Human Resources with Merck Sharpe & Dohme, a position he held for over 20 years. He also held the position of Director of Public Affairs for Merck’s manufacturing division in Europe where he had responsibility for 11 manufacturing sites.
