Tramore’s own legend
WOULDN’T it be nice for Tramore Town Council to erect a little plaque to the legend, Rocky Mills.
For donkey’s’ years, Rocky has been entertaining Elvis and bringing the King to your beautiful Tramore.
He has the magical gift of making adults and children happy for generations. Rocky is like the Metal Man in Tramore, solid as a rock.
My children grew up with Rocky, as did both my wife and I, and now my grandchildren are amazed by this terrific artiste.
Brendan Bowyer & Co plus many more excellent entertainers, some passed on, get all the limelight, and down in beautiful Tramore a simple man with enough charm to charm the birds from the trees never gets a mention.
Wouldn’t it be a lovely gesture as we walk the Prom to have a little plaque to one of the Deise’s finest singers, and who would you think would unveil the plaque/statue: you guessed it, Rocky himself. It’s no use doing it when we are “all shook up” and gone.
Come on, Tramore Town Council, don’t have “suspicious minds”, don’t be cruel, don’t have a wooden heart, don’t have us “crying in the chapel”. Have a good luck charm. Please, I might even give you all a Teddy Bear, (a little less conversation, a little bit more action).
PS: Up the Deise – see you on September 5.
