Cabin Fever’s Elaine will take you on a sea safari

ELAINE Power, winner of the RTE’s reality TV show Cabin Fever is back on the high seas again — only this time she’s running the show herself.

Elaine has invested in a twelve-seated rib, and has started a fully licensed Sea Safari from the beautiful harbour of Dunmore East where Elaine is from.

The Waterford and Dunmore East Sea Safari is a safe, fun and enjoyable pleasure trip to explore the interesting coastline that lies off the lovely fishing village of Dunmore East and the Waterford estuary.

There will be a guide on each trip giving details of the folklore and history of the coast from pirates and smugglers to wildlife and shipwrecks.

Although Elaine can’t predict exactly what you’ll see once out of the harbour, she can guarantee wonderful wild birds, marine nature and maybe some whale and dolphin spotting.

The Sea Safari is licensed by the Department of the Marine and all safety equipment and wet gear is supplied to passengers.

Elaine Power said, “I’m really excited about this new venture. I know people will love it once they try it out. When the sun is shining it’s a great way to explore Dunmore and Waterford estuary.

“Along with tourists and families out for pleasure trips we will also cater for corporate groups and private parties. It is a fun activity and something different.

“It’s also highly beneficial for school parties as it can be tailored to education, from marine wildlife to history. It’s not just for tourists; it’s a great family day out as well. It was important that we received the licence from the Department of the Marine as this endorses just how safe it is”.

Tours like this exist in many harbours all over the world but this is the first of its kind in the South East. This is a great addition to the many tourist attractions that already exist in the area. The rib will leave the harbour several times daily throughout the summer.

Tickets are available at Power’s Centra on the Dock Road in Dunmore East or phone 086 813 437.
