The opening fixture of December showcased two semi-finals of the Fundraising Meetings A5/A6 competition. On a bitterly cold night the fastest run of the session arrived via the Leo Dunphy and Paddy Quinn owned Mooncoin Cain this 1/1 shot sluicing up in a career best 28.93. Gliding into an early lead over Fantasy Ivory ‘Mooncoin’ had the opposition on the rack from an early stage romping to a seven and a half lengths success over ‘Fantasy’.
Race 1, A3 525: Exiting trap three at a fair rate of knots the Brykar Gang Syndicate owned and Pat O Regan trained Brykar Anyhassle 4/1 made no mistake leading throughout in a decent 29.03. In a one sided affair ‘Brykar’ cruised to a three lengths win over Tomahurra Chase.
Race 2, A8/A10 525: In a close run affair Clonkeen Blujack and Killaspy Flash locked horns the length of the back stretch. Owned by Pat O Neill ‘Clonkeen’ 5/2 quickly took command of matters on the run in eventually accounting for ‘Killaspy’ by one and a half lengths. Time 30.29.
Race 3, A4 525: Main Issue made a gallant attempt to lead all the way and having seen off the challenge of both Houdini Jack and Tycoon Rita looked the likely winner turning for home. Skyview Lark 3/1 had the last say however storming home on the wide outside getting the better of ‘Main’ by a neck in 29.19.

Race 5, A5 525: Displaying a nice burst of early pace the Betty Fox owned Tinahue Storm 2/1 made every stride a winning one in a career best 29.01. Building up a handy early lead over Drealistown Tray and Murlens Madison ‘Tinahue’ was forced to dig deep in the closing stages to hold at bay the late thrust of ‘Murlens’ by half a length.
Race 6, A5/A6 525: The first of two semi-finals of the A5/A6 event saw a slick starting Jetts Act 2/1 make every post a winning one in 29.23. Ardera Rose gave chase throughout but ‘Jetts’ was not for catching winning out for trainer Peter Cronin by a length and a half.
Race 7, A5/A6 525: In the second qualifier Dance Phoebe made a brave attempt from the front and held the call over Daroma Sunshine for a long period. Switching his challenge to the outside the David Walsh owned and Declan Walsh trained Daroma Sunshine 4/1 pounced in the dying strides to short head ‘Dance’ in a career best 28.98.
Race 8, A4 525: In the lucky last the Eddie Quilty and Seamus Kearns owned Springmount Roxy the well supported 4/5 favourite produce a gritty display to triumph in 29.04. Tested throughout by Monroe Beag, Tomahurra Dash and Remember Twig ‘Springmount’ stuck to the task really well emerging victorious by a length and a half from ‘Tomahurra’.
