Woodstown’s Jack O’Donoghue looks set to earn his second senior Irish rugby cap on Saturday after he was this morning named on the bench by Joe Schmidt for the test against Japan at the Ecopa Stadium, Shizuoka on Saturday afternoon.

The Munster back-row forward made his debut for Ireland against Canada in the November Internationals and will no doubt be thrilled to be back in match-day squad this weekend.

Jack is one of eight Munster men in the squad, with six starters and two on the bench.

There are two uncapped players among the replacements – in Ulster’s Kieran Treadwell and Leinster’s Rory O’Loughlin.

The match kicks off at 14:00 local time (06:00 Irish time) and is being broadcast by Eir in the Republic of Ireland.
