FUNDING of almost €11 million has been approved for the improvement and maintenance of Waterford’s roads.

Minister of State John Halligan T.D. confirmed this afternoon that his Independent Alliance colleague, Minister for Transport Shane Ross announced that Waterford is to receive an 11.5% increase in the Restoration Improvement grant.

Minister Halligan said the €10,891,434 in funding would be vital in assisting Waterford City and County Council with a range of ‘long overdue’ restoration and safety works, as well as Phase 1 of a pedestrian walkway from Ballinroad village to the new Greenway.
