In brilliant weather conditions on Sunday last the Munster Cross Country Championship fixture in St Augustine’s College Abbeyside attracted a huge entry from all over the province. On the programme were the Juvenile Inter club relay’s for under 10.12.14 and 16 and in some of these races as many as 17 clubs with teams of four competed. The Masters too had a huge entry in various age groups from over 35 upwards men and women. In the juvenile relays of 4 x 500 metres each West Waterford were second in the boys under 16 and girls under 16 and third in the boys u 10,Tramore had a third with the boys u 12 and Ferrybank also had a third with girls u10.In the Master’s Frank Quinlan Waterford was first over 40, Joe Gough second over 60 and Josie Ui Chuirin was third over 50 both West Waterford. Waterford AC were second club over 35 men, West Waterford ladies were third in the women’s O-35 and also the men’s o50.In the Inter County team section Waterford were third in three categories, men and women O-35 and men O-50.
All Ireland Cross Country in Dublin
On Sunday next 27 th November the All Ireland under 12,14,16,18 and Inter Club Senior and Junior X Country Championships are in Abbotstown,Dublin.and many athletes from Waterford clubs will be competing. Ferrybank have a senior men’s team competing and the team includes Shane Quinn travelling from the USA, Andrew Connick, Brian Gallagher,Louis O’Carroll and Wayne Roche. Barry Keane Waterford will be a fancy in the junior race while under age teams from West Waterford, Ferrybank,Tramore Wateford will also run
Kate’s great Run
Former top class race walker Kate Veale West Waterford now back doing some running competed in a very tough Half Marathon in Killarney on Sunday last and was second woman home. The race started at Kate Kearney’s Cottage and took the runners up between two mountains over by Moll’s Gap.

The Munster Juvenile B and Intermediate Cross Country Championships, are on Sunday 4th December 2016 in Clarecastle GAA Club, Clarecastle, Co Clare @ 11.30am.
Winter League
The Winter League in the City is continuing every Thursday for 12 nights in total starting from the RSC each Thursday at 7 pm.
Annual Turkey Trot
On Sunday next November 27th the 8th Annual Paddy Joe Curran Old ParishTurkey Trot 5 miles run and 4 miles walk will take place at the Marine Bar, Pulla, Dungarvan on the Youghal Road. All proceeds from this year’s event will go toSERT South East Radiotherapy Trust. The four mile walk will begin at 11am, while the 5 miles run will get underway at 12 noon.
Waterford AC Half Marathon
Saturday week December 3 rd is the date for this year’s Waterford AC Half Marathon and the entry is closed weeks ago at 2000 for this major event. The race starts at 10 am from Waterford IT Sports Campus at Carriganore and finishes there also. Full course on Waterford AC Half

Awards Ceremony
