Jimmy Maguire (Chairman KPGS), Martin Kirwan (Focus on Fitness & Damien’s Pilot), Damien Vereker (Team Ireland), William Rigney (Business Manager Gain Feeds) and Bruno the greyhound at the launch of the upcomng Gain Feeds Select 525 Stake at Kilcohan Park.

Team Ireland Para Olympian Damien Vereker (a recent winner of the World Cup event in South Africa who also finished eight in the Rio Olympics) and who lives in Waterford City was on hand to officially launch the 2016 Gain Feeds Select 525 Stakes event which takes place at Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium (KPGS) in October. Gain Dog Food, a leader in the greyhound feed industry is sponsoring an exciting programme of racing at KPGS which will see top greyhounds from across Ireland compete for a winners prize of €13,000.
The Gain Feeds Select 525 Stake will commence on the 22th October 2016 with the final taking place on November 5th. The Select Stakes invites the highest winner from all other major races across the calendar year to compete.
The local qualifier has free entry into the first round heats of the Gain Feeds Select 525 Stakes.
Three invited dogs will start at Semi Final stage. The invitees will be from the 2016 Irish Independent Laurels, The 2016 Dublin Coach Juvenile Derby and the 2016 Boylesports Derby.
On the night of the final we will also have our annual small dog terrier race taking place. The novelty race will take place over 50 metres. The winning terrier will win a €200.00 Gain Pet Food Voucher to be redeemed through any Gain Pet Food Stockist. The other contestants will win a bag of Gain Elite Pet Food for their participation in the race.

The Gain Feeds Select Stakes was first introduced to the racing calendar in 2012 and proved very popular. It is getting bigger every year. Gain Feeds not only do greyhound Feed but they also cater for all dog breeds which is why we have introduced the terrier race.”
