THE regular service at the Passage East Ferry has been interrupted at short notice as a result of upgrade works on the vessel.
It was hoped that these works could be carried out next week allowing the operators to provide adequate notice to customers. “However, in consultation with the Marine Survey office, it was deemed best to suspend service and complete these maintenance works,” a spokesperson said on behalf of Frazer Foyle Holdings.
Earlier this year, Passage East Ferry was acquired by Frazer Ferries Ltd., and the company have recently commenced a schedule of upgrade works to improve the service to its customers.
The spokesperson added, “We regret any inconvenience caused by the suspension of our service at such short notice. We have a full schedule of upgrade works planned for this vessel that will ensure our customers benefit from an ongoing dependable service. We expect the remainder of this work to be carried out without further disruption. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our valued customers for your patience during these works.”
The Passage East service is expected to return to service by Monday. Further updates will be available on our website www.passageferry.ie and on our Facebook page.
