A LARGE amount of equipment was stolen from two premises on the outskirts of Waterford city in the past few days.

Between 10pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday specialist equipment was stolen overnight from Ocean Fresh Shellfish, Clover Road, Ferrybank.

A large vehicle would have been needed to remove the items, which included two elevator conveyor belts, an ice bank, stainless steel tables and 16 Vivier tanks.

Meanwhile, locks on the front gate and a barrier at Kilkenny County Council’s depot in Newrath were broken on Sunday last. Electric shutters were also raised to gain access to the depot.

Among the huge amount of items taken during the burglary were a large vehicle required to move property, a red Milwaukee drill and case, a Paklight compactor plate and yellow water tank, a Wacker Neuswon yellow concrete saw, a Stephill generator 3.4 Kva, a black Tanaka strimmer, an orange Vicktor cement mixer and stand, an orange Ariens 21 push mower and a red pro Plus power petrol washer.

Anyone with information on the above incidents are being asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on (051)305300.
