The Track Supporters Club August festival of racing continued with semi-finals of a number of sweepstakes taking place.
The Glamour Paws Syndicate kindly underwrote the Scolari Me Daddy @ Stud A1 bitch race and returning to her old stomping ground High St Jesse 3/1 produced a superb front running performance to triumph in an excellent 28.20. Powering her way into an early lead ‘High’ never saw another rival leading early on from Cabra Aurora before coming home seven and a half lengths clear of Sensation Shiraz.
Race 1, A6 525: First up were the semi-finals of the Rory Forrest Canine Transport A6 event. In the first qualifier the SJC Syndicate owned Killahas Molly 5/2 showed plenty of early speed to make all in 29.13. After an early bump You Little Lucy finished well for second spot a length in arrears of ‘Killahas’.
Race 2, A6 325: In the second semi-final Bumbog 5/2 was always to the fore on the fence. Grabbing an early lead from Sorghaghtani Bumbog stayed on well to defeat that rival by two and a half lengths in 29.30.
Race 3, S3/S4 325: In the first of two qualifiers of the RL Canine Transport Sprint event the Anton Treacy owned and Peter Cronin trained Ardera Puma 4/6 opened his account in 17.84.Motoring to the head of affairs ‘Ardera’ kept on well up front proving a length to good for Manners Legend.
Race 4, S3S4 325: The second qualifier produced an exciting finish. Skyview Flash 3/1 was always up with the pace on the wide outside and did well to see off Rathsilla Messi by a neck in 17.84.

Race 6, A3 575: In the first semi-final of the John Duggan Memorial A3 stake the John Mullally owned Houdini Lee 4/1 kept it simple making every stride a winning one in a brisk 31.40. A rails seeking ‘Houdini’ was always in command of matters racing on to a cosy three and a half lengths defeat of Lisdaleen Bandit.
Race 7, A3 575: The second semi-final saw Cork trainer Kieran Lynch record a double courtesy of 2/1 shot Gwan Slab in 31.48. ‘Gwan’ eased his way into an early lead over Random Tiger before running out a three lengths winner over Choppers Sindy.
Race 8, A5 525: Racing concluded with the semi-finals of the Woodpecker Fuels A5 event. In the first qualifier a fast starting Jen Jen Sky motored into a clear early lead but tired dramatically in the closing stages. It was all change up front in the dying strides as the Damien Ryan owned and Philip Gough trained Door Belle 2/1 flew home to beat the always prominent Chancy Chappie by a length in 29.30.
Race 9, A5 525: The second semi-final went all the way to the wire. After a good start the 4/6 favourite Strictly Buster gave way to Pine Ace. Staying on strongly however owned ‘Strictly’ stormed home to outstay ‘Pine ‘by a head in 29.12.
Going rating. 325 yards-Standard. 525,550 and 575 yards .10 fast.
