With her first preference vote down from 5554 in 2011 to just 2268 this time around Ciara Conway goes back to the jobs market and a career as a social worker.

She believes that water charges was and she admits the writing has been on the wall especially from the local elections of 2014.

Nonetheless she said she believed in the Labour Party and its principals but she does not know if she will be a candidate in the future.

I have no idea if I will fight another campaign. It is a big ask. It would be a huge honour to do it. It is always an honour to represent the Labour party and to contest an election in Waterford but at this stage I don’t know. Everyone is tired,” she said
