GARDAI are investigating the disappearance of almost 150 posters across the county endorsing Renua General Election candidate Mailo Power.

The Renua team originally thought the posters were blown off poles due to high winds in the last two days but a member of the public informed the Gardai they had seen four people in a car cutting them down last night. The removed posters were situated along the Cork Road, Tramore, from the Tower Hotel toward the Dunmore Road and between Dungarvan and Youghal.

A determined Power told the Waterford News and Star: “Obviously this is disappointing, it’s meant to be a level playing field out there, but we see this as a positive rather than a negative. We already have three teams of people out replacing the posters and we are clearly regarded as a threat to some”.
