THE search for a man presumed to be missing has been stood down after he turned up safe and well last night.

The last sighting of Micahel Mooney was on Friday, January 15 at around 9.30pm. Éirígí Waterford South-Tipperary put out an urgent call on behalf of those running the helping hands soup run in Waterford, as they believed he was missing and were concerned for his well-being.

A land and river based search was carried out by Waterford Marine Search and Rescue on Monday evening.

Thankfully, Mr Mooney, who usually sleeps rough around the old Iron Bridge area, was found to be safe and well.
