Waterford TD John Deasy has told WLR FM he does not consider the regeneration of the North Quays as a priority project for the city and county. The Fine Gael representative stated the plans which were included in the Government’s Capital Investment Plan last month could be discarded following the formation of a new Government after General Election.

Mr. Deasy told Deise AM on Friday morning: “The North Quays is not my baby and I have had no real involvement in this.

“I consider it not to be a priority for the city. I think I’d like to see it developed at some point but I think the development of a retail block at Michael Street is more necessary.”
