At a special meeting held in Dungarvan this afternoon the majority of Waterford City and County councillors voted not to vary the basic rate of Local Property Tax.

In total 23 councillors voted in favour of retaining the LPT for the current year at the same rate as last year, while 5 Sinn Fein councillors voted against.

Four councillors were recorded as absent.
