DRUGS and cash worth in excess of €63,000 have been seized by Gardaí in Waterford over the past two days.

Waterford Drug Unit with the assistance of the Dog Unit carried out a number of searches in the city in connection with the ongoing sale and supply and supply of drugs.

Yesterday at around 8pm the Drug Unit stopped and searched a vehicle at Grannagh on the outskirts of the city. Two kilograms of Cannabis herb, seven grams of Cocaine and a large amount of cash, worth a total value of €49,500, were seized. A 30-year-old man was arrested for Possession of Drugs for the Sale and Supply and is currently detained at Waterford Garda station.

Meanwhile, a house in the Ozier Close area was also searched yesterday. Cannabis resin to the value of €3,400 and cash were seized.

A 35-year-old man was arrested for Possession of Drugs for the Sale and Supply and  detained at Waterford Garda station.  He was later released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

On Wednesday in the Wellington Street area a house was searched and Cocaine to the value of €9,500,  small amounts of Amphetamine, Cannabis resin, Cannabis herb, and D5 tablets,  worth €1,100, were discovered.  A file is to be sent to the DPP.
