THE West Waterford Food Festival continues this evening and until Sunday in Dungarvan with great food, masterclasses, foraging walks, music, cook camps and history taking place at a host of venues.
The opening ceremony and Make It Yourself – Grow It Yourself awards takes place at Davitts Quay at 4pm. From 8pm until late Dungarvan Film Club presents ‘The Lunchbox’ which is a wine tasting and film screening at The Old Market House Arts Centre. Among the other events well worth taking in this evening is a chocolate masterclass at Ormonde’s Café which gets underway at 7pm and continues until 8.30pm.
Tomorrow, Saturday, there’s a toddler and family fun event at Walton Park between 10 and 11am. See the farm animals, the food makers and enjoy cameos of times gone by at Dungarvan Castle from 11am.
An ICA Bootcamp takes place at Deise Day Care Centre, Mitchell Street in the afternoon while Clonea Strand is the venue for a foraging on the beach between 4 and 5.15pm.
Hillwalkers are also catered for with a hike in the Knockmealdowns. The meeting point is opposite the Park Hotel main gate at 11am. Also tomorrow there are cookery demonstrations, an enterprising food market and much more.
The festival continues throughout Sunday with a Farmers and Country Market, talks about teas and see the deconstructing of a whiskey cask with Jameson cooper, Ger Buckley.
There’s something for everyone – get out and enjoy the weekend.
