OCCUPANTS of a house in Lismore Park stumbled across a man breaking into their property via a front window on Sunday. At 7.30pm the residents of the house were in the kitchen and on entering the front room they discovered a male climbing in through the front window. He was attempting to snatch items from the coffee table and a wallet was later reported to be missing. The man fled the scene after being disturbed.

This was one of a number of burglaries which occurred over the bank holiday weekend. Between 5.30pm and 9.20pm on Sunday, a Median laptop and Sony Expira mobile phone were stolen from a house at strawberry Hill. The front window of the property had been left open and the items were on display.
At some point between 5,30pm on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday morning, a lawnmower was taken from a shed in Ardmore Park. The owner reported that the lock on the shed had been damaged. Another incident was reported in Ardmore Park, which took place between 9pm and 11pm on Sunday night. The injured party reported leaving the house for a short period and on returning found a handbag had been taken from front room.

A theft from a car parked at Claremont has also been reported to Gardaí. The incident took place between 12.15pm and 12.45pm, when the car window was smashed and an iPhone taken.

If anyone has any information on these incidents, or saw anything unusual, they are asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on (051) 305300.
